SHK BS 4568 Class 4 G.I. Conduit - Hot Dipped Galvanized


Charecteristics : High Corrosion protection both from Inside and Outside surface of the conduit
  Hot Dipped Galvanized for harsh extream atmospheric condition
  Supplied with one Coupler with each leght for faster installation at site
  Threading as per BS standards using Metric size scaling system 
Applications : Suitable for exterior use
  Areas where high corrossion protection is required for cables/wires
  Recommended in areas with high level of humidity
  Other areas such as areas near chemical plants and Coastal areas & Car Parkings

Cables Capacity of Conduit

The following tables give guidance on the calculation of the number of single core PVCinsulated cables which can be locateed in various sizes of conduit.

The table deal with two particular cases
1.Single-core PVCinsulated cables in straight runs exceeding 3 meters in length.
2.Single-core PVC insulated cables in straight runs exceeding 3 meters in length or in runs of any length with bends or sets


Staright runs not exceeding 3 meters in length

For each types of cables used obtains the cable factor from table 1. Sum all the cable factors and compare with the conduit factors given in table 2

The condiut sizes which will accomadate the cables are those with a conduit factors equal to or greater than the sum of the cable factors

These tables are based on the 16th edition of the I.E.E. Wiring Regulations Appendix 12.

Sraight runs not exceeding 3 meters in length or runs of any length or runs of any length incorprating bends and sets
for each type of cable used obtains the cable factors from table 3. sum all the cable factors and compare with the conduit factorgiven in table 4 for the relevant lenght of run and the nuber of bends and sets in than run.
